Today was another trail day and the weather was PERFECT! No wind (not that it would have effected me where I was), low 70's and rain. Just awesome for a day on trails I've not been on in years!! The AT on this side of the road (heading north) was a lot rockier and rootier. The south side, after about 1/2 mile, was very wide and smooth (but NOT flat!!). This side, however, was hillier (almost 1000 feet of elevation gain vs. 700) and all single track! There were many very rocky stretches that were very slippery so I eased up on them (when I was running, that is).
I ended up doing 5 miles in 1:09. My miles were:
1: 13:47
2: 20:02
3: 12:19
4: 11:00
5: 12:32
Here are some pics of today's run:

| Here's the elevation profile. Not bad for this area!! |
Where on the AT are you? I live not far from it and we love to go do family hikes there. I'm sure you're enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteIn Kempton, PA- right near Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Before I got off the couch, I used to hike the same stretch with my camera.
