I feel like I'm getting back into a running rhythm. Something that I haven't felt in a while. My mileage still isn't where I want it to be, but it'll get there. Last week was my last week that I wanted in the teens and now I'll hit the 20's for a while. I still don't have any races that I want to do, yet, but I'm thinking about the Dirty Bird, a 15k trail race the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I missed it last year because of injury, but did it two years ago and had a blast! It was after that race I realized I needed trail shoes (my Kinvaras did NOT do the trick on that rocky, rooty course). I finished that race in 1:35.57, a 10:17 pace (I only know because I looked...).
I'm also looking into a running vacation for next summer. I saw one running camp from prsfitlive.com that looks really good and includes a lot for the $. Do you know of any? I could also make my own here in PA at the PA parks, but that wouldn't be as fun :)

That running camp sounds awesome and very reasonably priced! I totally want to do it. Did you see a schedule of dates?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a schedule, but I'm not sure if there is one! I follow him on FB and have seen pics form both his triathlon coaching clinics and also from the trail running camp. I hadn't planned on contacting him until the winter (when it's dull and dreary and want to think more about summer running- though I do love running in snow, too!!). If I ever see anything (or when I inquire about the camp) I will let you know!!
DeleteExcellent. I would totally do something like this.
DeleteA running vacation sounds wonderful! Of course, that picture of that trail is beautiful as well. :)

I wish I could say that pic was mine- I would have left a link, but forgot where I got it from (long, long ago!). I was planning on doing a camping/ running trip this summer, but an injury prevented that from happening. If I don't do the camp next year, I will do this!!
