What's left to do this year?
I'm enjoying my time relaxing from a great season of running. But, I'm also ancy to get started for next year. I'm not sure how long I'm going to kick back. I feel very motivated to run, but I know my body needs some time. I have one more race each month until the new year (Hershey Half on Sunday, The Dirty Bird 15k in November (more than likely) and then an Xmas related 5k in December. I don't plan on really killing it at the 5k, it'll be for fun. I want to better my time at the Dirty Bird (barring injury I will) and I'm running Hershey with a couple friends, so it'll be a bit of a social event rather than a running race. It'll be a great way to wind down the year!
How about you?
How was your season?
What's left on your calendar?
Any goals for next year already?
How long are you going to take off? I'm doing the Disney Half for the 2nd time this January!
ReplyDeleteHi Tink! I'm not taking any time totally off (I can't bring myself to do that) but I'm taking it easy for a couple weeks, maybe up to 3. I'm already 1 week in and my quads feel great (major DOMS pain for a couple days after my last race). I was also having groin muscle issues as well that have settled though they started healing up during my two week taper. Congrats on the Disney Half! That race was DNS for me this past January (swelling in and around the bones in my feet) but we still loved being in Disney! Tink is my favorite, too!
ReplyDeleteReally, really want to be out running. Starting to think about Leadville training. Going to do a couple of months of speed and strength work before getting into the longer efforts required for August.
ReplyDeleteSorry, man. Get that foot ready! Jane really wants to go to Colorado! I'll definitely be up for pacing you! It'll be a blast (a really hard one, though).
