Compression gear

Just a quick post. Do any of you wear compression gear? I had been thinking about buying a pair of sleeves for my calves, but wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the $$. As luck would have it, I won a pair and I'm looking forward to trying them out (thanks to Tommie Copper for the gear and Beth at Running Around My Kitchen for having the contest).

I've been considering compression shorts, too thinking it might help with the sciatic and resulting knots in my hammy. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks and looking forward to reviewing the Tommie Copper calf sleeves!!

  1. I wear CEP compression sleeves. I too won a pair of Tommie Copper sleeves, however I did not find them to provide the compression benefits I was looking for (as compared to CEP socks). I really like my CEP sleeves and I find that they help me to not have as much shin and calf soreness after my long runs (I wear them during my runs even though I look like a soccer player!!). You can find a good deal on them from www.sportscompression.com and use the coupon code "irockcep25"

  2. I have CEP socks, too. I was wearing them when I run, but have recently started to wear them for recovery. Love them. I think it really helps. Try them on and make sure they're hard to get on, so really tight. Mine are a size smaller than the size charts would recommend. I've got a pair of tights, too, but I'm not really sure of their benefits, although they're comfy.

  3. I find the Tommie coppers are great for wearing to work or running in but for recovery I wear my Asics compression socks. They have way more compression in them.

  4. Sounds like the TC's aren't as good for recovery. I'll definitely make sure they are tight enough. If I like them, I'll have to tryout shorts as well. Thanks for the input, ladies!!

  5. I love my compression knee sleeves so much I've recently starting imagining what it would be like to have a compression body suit for long runs :) Hope you like them!

  6. I have them on right now! They feel pretty good. I may head out to a running store this weekend (or next...) to try some others on to compare feel.
