This is my first post, it may also be my last post...or just my last post for anther month or so. Why am I doing this? Mostly to talk to myself. I love running. I love running short, fast runs or long slow runs. I have a speed goal of running a 5k in under 20 minutes. Originally, it was to run a 5k in under 22:23, but I did that- 21:02! So, I need a new speed goal for this year (just to help with the motivation). I also have a distance goal- to run my first Ultra! I already signed up, I just need to build up my long runs slowly. The race date is October 2nd and it's the Blues Cruise Ultra (http://www.bluescruiseultra.com/) in PA, a 50k trail run. It seems to be very well supported, and also very well run and enjoyable.
Goals are very important to me and for others as well. Goals give me something to shoot for, something to strive for to either make myself better as a person or just to motivate me to get off my ass. I try to help others get motivated to exercise and eat right as well- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It just depends on the person and what they want. And what they are willing to do to get what they want.
I'm going to end this first post with a quote (I like quotes)...
"Dedication is doing what you don't want to do so you can do what you want to do"
